This is not likely to last much longer, so get there quick! Sadly "progress" is encroaching on this beautiful area at a frightening pace. You can see the high rise in the background and just across the road. It would be such a shame to lose this wonderful icon. |

| The shop is on the Esplanade at Military Jetty, just south of Golden Beach which is a few kilometers south of Caloundra. To find it follow your nose until you get to a new bridge over a canal and turn left. The shop is right on the water and next to one of our all favourite old time" caravan parks - Jimmies. | The shop is absolutely spotless and the new staff very friendly and helpful. You can get quite a large side salad for $3.00 and this can easily feed two. You can eat out the front or go to one of the great covered shelters just across the road right on the water. Now if you like to cook your own or want some prawns or oysters there is a wholesale/retail fishmarket in nearby Daniel. |

| The two pieces of crumbed cod and chips cost $10.50 plus two cans of drinks ($3.40) plus the salad ($3.00) meant a total of $16.90 for lunch. In fact, there were too many chips so the baker's dozen pelicans across on the waterfront scored a few chips - not that they looked anything but well fed. We just love this place as it is so laid back and time has passed it by. It is sitting on prime waterfront real estate and we can only hope that the developers don't act for many years to come.
