Low Cost Bike Rack

Special thanks to Keith Lellis from the CMCA in Terrigal for sharing these clever ideas with us. Essentially it is a budget bike rack made up from separately purchased bits. Keith has fitted it to his Winnebago A class. The wheel supports are gal channel. The interesting bits of course are the clamps. Now these have no brands on them at all but Keith got them from a bike shop. If this idea appeals to you (it certainly does to us) we suggest that you print out this page and take it to your local bike shop. Another approach is to buy the clamps as spares from any Fiamma dealer (these will be dearer we suspect). Anyone finding a ready source of clamps could you kindly let us know so that we can publish the details. Looking at Keith and Judy's bike showed absolutely zero damage to paint work as the clamps are nicely lined. We were very impressed with the over centre locking clamps. Worked a treat! |
