Dotted all over Tasmania you will come across beautiful little lakes looked after or built by Hydro Tasmania. This one is particularly beautiful and well worth a visit if you are like us and really enjoy getting away from all noise other than that made by nature. So where are we? Well you need to travel on a fair bit of dirt to get to this spot. It is about 20 kms west of Interlaken. We came up from the Midlands Highway at Oatlands. This was all good dirt with only a moderate climb but a bit on the windy side. |

| There are absolutely zero facilities here, but it is a totally legal campsite. Abundant fairly level sites and you can get right beside the water if you wish. We used the lake water for doing the washing - didn't try it for drinking as luckily we arrived with full tanks. The stars here at night are glorious. OUr visit was in April and we had a bit of light snow but this had all melted by sun up. Absolutely zero phone and TV. There is a good launching ramp and during our stay it was used once by a very friendly local. |

| So if you enjoy the tranquility of the bush then this is the spot for you. There seem to be no limitations on length of stay. They do ask you not to light fires using logs etc. as the actual fireplace. Wood for fires is in abundance everywhere. Absolutely recommended. Hema 53 B 9 |
